In the 1700 and on are the most modern automata's that were created. They now have features of humans and animals. Human automatas were programmed to write, move arms. necks and such. Automatas were also programmed for illusions and other such special effects.

The first Unimate was created by George Devol in the 1950s . The Unimate was used on general motors assembly line in 1961. The Unimated had two large computer boxes attached to a arm. On the assembly line the Unimate was responsible for die casting, and welding those parts into auto bodies. These were dangerous jobs for humans that is why it was given jobs like this so that humans were not exposed to poisoned with exhausted gas, or lose a limb.

Lego Mindstorms were created and based on agentsheets. The miniature robot comes with a programmable brick computer, set of modular sensors and motors, and lego parts. The Lego Mindstorms for school is developed by Tufts University. The difference between the original and the school is the consumer series, which is another light sensor, and other gearing options.

The first robot to roam mars Sojourner was created. It included a lander, and a roving probe. Launched on December 4, 1996. With a speed of 16.441 mph it lands on Mars in 1997 one year later. The total amount that it took to prepare this robot is 175 million dollars.

Honda releases the first non prototypes ASIMO(humanoid). This robotic was designed to help those with out full mobility(disabled). Stands at 3 feet 3 inches, weighs 113 pounds. Has the power to walk and run on its two feet at a speed of 3.7 mph. The ASIMO is also apart of the Honda E/P series.

General Atomics MQ-1 Predator which was first for Unmanned aerial vehicle with cameras, sensors, and 2 hellfire missiles The General Atomics MQ-1 Predator is mainly used by the United States Air Force and Central Intelligence Agency. Has been part of the wars in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bosnia, Serbia, Iraq, etc. It is powered by a Rotax engine and driven by a propeller.

Mars rovers Spirit and Opportunity is another robot that lands on mars. The robot includes: a panoramic camera, a miniature thermal emission spectrometer, a Moessbauer spectrometer, an alpha particle X-ray spectrometer for Chemistry, and a microscope. Spirit and Opporunity mission was to discover the geology and Martians surface.
