R2-D2 and C-3PO
R2D2 and C3PO are the most famouse robotics from the legendary movei Star Wars. Star Wars New Hope released in 1977 it was R2 and C3's time to shine. With C3 understand R2's beeps and whistles these two robotics become cinematic non-living characters in history icons.

Wall E
When animators were coming up with the graphics of Wall E(the robot) they studied many robotics such as recycling stations to study machinery, interviewed robot designers, made a trip to NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, watched recording of the mars rover, and borrowed a bomb detecting robot.
Wall E's eyes are based off of binoculars and zoomed in to give a sympathetic look, designer already had the idea of Wall E being boxed shape when studying the recycle stations and the trash compactor, the director decided not to give Wall E nose or a mouth. Tank Treads were based on a wheelchair that used treads, designers decided to attach his arms to tracks on the side of his body so his arms could move around when waving and such. With the arms designed the way they are it helped with Wall E's posture when giving emotions.

Short Circuit/Johnny 5
Johnny 5 was designed by a man named Syd Mead. the graphics was based off of sketches drawn by Eric Allard.
Johnny's arm movement was controlled by a telemetry suit which is the metallic skeleton supported by the puppeteer's upper torso, each joint in the robot had its own sensor which allowed the arms and hand movements supported by the puppeteers transfer directly to the robot. And finally Johnny's voice was supported by the puppeteers and was projected at real time.

A.I.: Artificial Intelligence- Is a robotic version of Pinocchio.
The main character David is a robot but also humans so half boy half android. The robot boys if programmed to love.
In the early 1994 producer Jan Harlan began creating little robot-type humans for the character of David by creating a little boy with a movable rubber face but this was not a success because it was very much not appealing(ugly). So the derector dicided to do green screen.

The Terminator
When deciding how to create this structure of a robot they designers first started out with puppets, first molded in clay, then plaster reinforced with steel ribbing. These were later sanded, painted and then chrome-plated.
The robot of the terminator is no different it is a regular robot that is remotely controlled with a gatling way guns

Robocop The robotic figure of robocop is a ED-209 stop motion model. Craig Davies was the designer of the ED-209 stop motion model and the full size robot too. This robot was then animated by Phil Tippett. The suit has quad hydraulic rams on each of its legs, large part of it is redundancies, and its mouth has gigantic radiators and cooling units. This robot is so big that it is not possible for it to walk up or down stairs, also if you knock it over it will not be able to sit back up.

The Iron Giant- was a fully animated movie using computer generated imagery. It was first sketched but designers found it hard to draw a metal object in a fluid like manner. There was lots of help of designing this robotic a student from CalArt helped with assisting the animations. The voice of the robot is not electronically modulated the voice is of a man named Vin Diesel.
